#StartSMART: Backpack Initiative
Georgia Community Alliance is collecting school supplies to put together backpacks for students and families in Middle Georgia school systems. Backpacks will be available for pickup at a community stand on July 31, 2026.
To donate new or fairly used school supplies or backpacks, please visit a business that is labeled as a Donation Center. These businesses will have flyers from GCA in their window and will have a labeled donation bin inside. All donations will be collected on July 24, 2026.

If you are a business owner interested in becoming a donation drop-off location, please email kbrown@gcainc.org. Your business will be featured on a thank you post on Instagram and your logo will be displayed on the StartSMART pickup table.
